B.Sc. in Mathematics and Physics
al hayat MEDICAL UNIVERSITY >B.Sc. in Mathematics and Physics
This programme prepares secondary school teachers of mathematics and physics, combining subject mastery with professional teacher preparation. Students study calculus, algebra, geometry, statistics and discrete mathematics alongside mechanics, electricity and magnetism, thermodynamics, waves and optics, and modern physics, supported by practical laboratory work. These are integrated with educational foundations, educational psychology, curriculum studies, methods of teaching mathematics and physics, educational measurement and assessment, instructional technology and classroom management. Responding to the acute national shortage of qualified mathematics and science teachers, the programme places students in partner secondary schools for supervised teaching practice, culminating in an extended teaching internship, and includes a research project.
Career opportunities. Graduates teach mathematics and physics in secondary schools, and progress into curriculum development, school leadership, teacher training, education programme work and postgraduate study.
