The Bachelor of Science in Nursing prepares professional nurses to deliver safe, evidence-based and person-centred care across the lifespan. Students begin with anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology and the fundamentals of nursing, and progress through medical and surgical nursing, maternal and child health nursing, paediatric nursing, community health nursing, mental health nursing, critical and emergency care, nursing management and nursing research. Clinical competence is developed in the skills laboratory and through supervised placements in the University teaching hospital, health centres and community settings, and the programme concludes with a research project and a supervised clinical internship. The curriculum comprises 224 credit units, 67 courses and 4,020 contact hours.

Prospective students must meet the following requirements:
- Completion of Secondary School: You must have finished secondary school with at least a 50% overall average.
- Certificates: Submit both the original and a copy of your secondary school certificate.
- Photographs: Provide six (6) passport-sized photos with a white background.
- Admission Test/Interview: Pass the required admission interview and/or test.
- Registration Fee: Pay a registration fee of $35

The academic year at AMU spans 16 weeks, divided into two semesters. (14 weeks for tuition and two weeks for examinations). The first semester starts in September.
