The Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management and Economics produces managers and analysts who understand both health systems and economics. The programme combines a grounding in the health sciences with management and economics: health economics, healthcare financing and insurance, hospital administration, human resource management, health information systems, quality improvement and patient safety, procurement and supply-chain management, accounting and financial management for health, strategic planning and leadership. Learning is applied through case studies, project work, fieldwork and an intensive internship in Year Five, and students complete a research project. The curriculum comprises 216 credit units, 64 courses and 4,450 contact hours.
Career opportunities. Graduates work as hospital and health facility administrators, health financing and insurance analysts, programme and project managers, procurement and supply-chain officers, and health system planners
