The Bachelor of Radiography and Medical Imaging produces entry-level, practice-ready radiographers. The programme covers radiographic physics and equipment, sectional and radiographic anatomy, patient positioning technique, radiation physics, radiation protection and safety, general radiography, contrast studies, ultrasound, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, image processing and quality assurance, and patient care and communication. Students move from University laboratories into supervised clinical placements in imaging departments, and Year Five consolidates their training through an intensive Clinical Radiography Internship across general radiography, ultrasound and computed tomography, together with a graduation thesis. The curriculum comprises 217 credit units, 60 courses and 4,575 contact hours.
Career opportunities. Graduates practise as radiographers and imaging technologists in hospital imaging departments and private diagnostic centres, and progress into ultrasound, computed tomography and magnetic resonance specialisation, radiation safety and imaging quality assurance.
