Bachelor of Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation
al hayat MEDICAL UNIVERSITY >Bachelor of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation
The Bachelor of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation prepares physiotherapists able to assess, diagnose and manage movement and functional disorders. The programme builds a strong base in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, kinesiology, exercise physiology and pathology, and develops clinical competence across musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiorespiratory, paediatric, geriatric, sports and women’s health physiotherapy, together with electrotherapy, manual therapy, prosthetics and orthotics, and community-based rehabilitation. Given the high burden of injury, stroke and disability in Somalia, the programme emphasises community rehabilitation and disability inclusion. Students undertake supervised clinical placements throughout and complete a graduation thesis and a culminating clinical internship. The curriculum comprises 233 credit units, 63 courses and 4,815 contact hours.
